Irish Wheelchair Rugby today officially announced the Irish team for the 2018 IWRF World Qualification Tournament. Seven players will make up the team, which will represent Ireland at the forthcoming Championships, to be held in Notwill, Switzerland from 2nd April - 9th April 2018.
We are now less than a month away and preparations are well underway to welcome the eight qualifying nations to Nottwil. Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Ireland, New Zealand and Korea will compete over 4 days to secure the final 4 available spots at the GIO 2018 IWRF World Championship in Sydney this August.
Following a successful motion at the last IWRF General Assembly, the IWRF has agreed to undertake a trial where ex-athletes undergo training to participate as members of classification panels at IWRF events that are sanctioned for classification.
