Irish Wheelchair Rugby today officially announced the Irish team for the 2017 IWRF European A Wheelchair Rugby Championships. Seven players will make up the team, which will represent Ireland at the forthcoming Championships, to be held in Koblenz, Germany from 24th June - 2nd July 2017.

Ireland have been drawn together with European Champions Great Britain, Denmark, and Poland in Group B of the 2017 IWRF European A Championship in Koblenz, Germany. France, Sweden Germany and Finland form the Group A.
Ireland were today beaten by a fast, mobile and aggressive Frnch Team. France have come a long way in a short amount of time, with the recruitment of a number of strong key players France have progressed from 12th Ranked Position to being within a hands breath of making the Final of the IWRF European Wheelchair Rugby Championships.
After a day off yesterday the Irish Wheelchair Rugby Team were raring to go against the tough and experienced German Squad. The starting line up of Aylmer, Mongan, Culliton and McCarthy had a great first quarter. Despite being down by 4 at the end of the first the strong challenge of the Irish forced the Germans to make some major line up changes, reverting to their tall and fast starting line up.
Irish Wheelchair Rugby is responsible for promotion and development of Wheelchair Rugby in Ireland
