After a very brief lunchbreak we were up against the Kent Crusaders. With only 2 of their regular line up available for the weekend the Crusaders had brought 4 of their newer players for the weekend. We went out on the offensive and leapt into a excellent lead within the first quarter. This gave us a good opportunity to use our own bench. We finished the game with a winning score of 53-36.
Saturday morning we tipped off against the Pirates. After getting to watch their games on Friday we had out tactics well worked out going into the game. We went on the defensive from the start, keying up on every play. The Pirates struggled every time they tried to brake through to our goal line and either messed up a pass or were beaten by the 40 second shot clock. We went in at half time with a 6 point lead. The Pirates had to switch up their tactics for the second half. They worked hard to prevent us from getting back to the key after we would score which meant we had no other choice but to press. We struggled to hold them back and started to make some simple mistakes under the pressure. The game finished with the Pirates coming out on top with a 47-44 win.
